Colonia del Sacramento has become a prime touristic destination in the region, due to its unique combination of preserved architectural/historical heritage, immediate beautiful natural surroundings, and well known hospitality. All this, plus the charm and style of its hotels, restaurants and architecture, and the vicinity to the major capital city of Buenos Aires.

Still a small town where everything is close-by, its hotel & services infrastructure welcomes thousands of travelers every weekend, with a varied offer to suit every budget.

Local produce also plays a part: the wineries by Carmelo have become a major attraction, and you must taste the local cheeses and dulce de leche, which made Colonia County the dairy capital of Uruguay. Not to mention the grilled meats, a chapter in itself.

Connectivity with Buenos Aires by ferry (1hr) and Montevideo by ground transportation (2hrs) is reliable. International and regional airports offer direct flights from almost everywhere.

Buenos Aires Ezeiza (EZE) - international airport
Buenos Aires Aeroparque (AEP) - regional airport
Montevideo Carrasco (MVD) - international airport
