GFNY Colonia introduces a new MTB race in combination with the road race.
It's a 65 km course of dirt and gravel roads with 432 mts elevation across and around the coastal prairie known as San Pedro, a deep country region of rugged nature and the Uruguay River coming in and out of visual range.
The undulating topography does not impose decisive climbs, forecasting a compact peloton through a good part of the race, and a fast race. The usual winds of the Uruguayan coastline may be of key importance on the outcome.
Human presence is almost exclusively noticeable on the vast agricultural development. Other than that, you will enjoy the company of the mellow local wildlife, and leave with the feeling of having travelled to safer, more serene and peaceful times.
THE MTB RACE IS COMPETITIVE: Finishers of MTB race are also eligible for category rankings and Overall and Podium awards. Top 10% of finishers in each age group earn a spot in the Qualifier Corral at every GFNY World event.
As part of GFNY Colonia, the MTB race follow the same Rules, Categories, Medical Certificate, Disclaimer, Schedule of Events, Qualification and Results.
